Genealogy & Womens History Month 2005

March is Women's History Month and this year's theme is "Women Change America."

This year I thought I'd help you change American by providing you with links that explain how to locate your female ancestors. As you know, if you have been doing genealogy work for any length of time, our women ancestors are almost invisible. I'm going to rectify this situation by showing you how to find those illusive women.

After marriage records the next best way to locate a woman's maiden name is on birth records. These are sometimes hard to find if you don't have the supporting information.
